NobelClad Europe receives modified sloping semi-trailer

Creative solutions for special requirements

In the 35 years of our existence we have successively developped the services we offer. In particular, our customers have been appreciating the fluid border between renting and buying for many years – as well as the broad product and brand portfolio. As a provider of special vehicles with our own rental service, both we and our customers benefit from the experience of our entire team. We enjoy working on developing individual solutions with our customers and regularly retrofit special customer requests or equipment features in our workshops that cannot be delivered ex works. Every now and then we encounter new challenges.

Making the impossible possible

Sloping loaders undoubtedly fulfill very special tasks. Their abilities are usually not visible straight away. That changes as soon as the hydraulic cylinders raise the loading area. The function enables the otherwise impossible or extremely difficult transport of large steel rings or extra-wide sheets. NobelClad Europe GmbH also makes the (almost) impossible possible. The company from Burbach, Germany, headquartered in the USA, has been using so-called explosion welding or explosion cladding to join metals together for over 50 years. By using this technique, material combinations are created that could not be achieved with conventional processes. The dimensions of the metal sheets and the deformation caused by the process increase the demands on the transport. The company therefore uses sloping loaders with additional load securing options for the transport between the blast pit and their plant.

Special vehicles even more special

The CargoMAX from Faymonville can be equipped with 241 stake pockets ex works. But even this number does not always fit for every purpose, as Tim Aust from NobelClad Europe GmbH explained to us during initial discussions. The project we have been engaged for envisaged an increase in the number of stake pockets to 593. The conversion work was intended to turn a special vehicle into an even more special vehicle. Said and done: cutting, welding, painting – our service team did a great job. Three weeks after we received the basic vehicle from Faymonville, we were able to hand over the converted CargoMAX to a visibly satisfied customer.

The sloping loader is designed for a total weight of 45,000 kg. Depending on the equipment, the payload is approx. 32,500 kg. Even if it is not built for this, the vehicle can of course also be used for less demanding transports. It can also be configured to be extendable. The loading area, which then can be (technically) extended by approx. 6,000 mm, enables the transport of extra wide but also extra long goods. The sloping loader is equipped with an electro-hydraulic unit with which the loading area can be brought into position. Therefore a specially equipped tractor unit is not required. The three elements of the loading area can be locked with the help of mechanical load supports in a range of approx. 12 ° to 50 ° in predetermined positions. The use of high-quality components and the hot galvanized construction made of fine-grained steels guarantees durability and robustness.

We wish our customer a good trip at all times and a lot of fun with his new trailer.
